On March 1, 2004, in Laredo, Texas, 31-year-old Carolina Reyes, a Hispanic female, was found deceased alongside her husband, Ramiro Reyes, aged 40. The discovery was made by Carolina's sister during a visit to their residence. Authorities concluded that Ramiro Reyes fatally shot Carolina before taking his own life in an apparent murder-suicide. At the time of the incident, the couple's 12-year-old son was not present in the home.
