Reserve Deputy Constable Nehemiah Pickens, aged 33, was tragically shot and killed on July 5, 2005, in Houston, Texas. He was working a second job as a plainclothes security guard at the Dyersdale Village Apartments when he observed a suspect fleeing from a vehicle and began to pursue him.
