Mei Xie, a 49-year-old woman of Chinese ethnicity, tragically lost her life on February 3, 2014, in Cypress, Texas. She was killed along with her husband, Maoye Sun, and their two sons, 9-year-old Timothy and 7-year-old Titus, in what became known as the Cypress massacre. The family was found shot execution-style in their home, with all four victims suffering gunshot wounds to the head.
