Jennifer Ramirez Mata, a 30-year-old Hispanic woman, was born on March 28, 1983, in Tyler, Texas. She grew up in Chandler, attending local schools and graduating from Brownsboro High School in 2000. Following high school, Jennifer pursued a career as a pharmacy technician, working at the Walmart pharmacy while attending Tyler Junior College. She later joined UT Health Northeast, where she continued her work in the pharmaceutical field.
Known for her generosity, Jennifer actively participated in the "Locks of Love" program and was also an artist. She was a loving mother to her three children: Benjamin, Naveah, and Arialle Mata. Her parents, Tony and Virginia Ramirez, and siblings, Christopher Ramirez and April Grant, remember her fondly.
On February 25, 2014, Jennifer was tragically shot and killed in Tyler, Texas. Her husband was arrested and charged with her murder. Reports indicate that he was convicted and, while incarcerated, claimed to have no memory of the incident. Jennifer's mother publicly forgave her son-in-law for the crime.
Jennifer's passing left a profound impact on her family and the Tyler community. Her dedication to her family, her profession, and her charitable endeavors are remembered by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler, followed by entombment at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions were directed to Locks of Love, reflecting her commitment to helping others.
