On September 3, 2014, Zhi Liu, a 55-year-old Asian female, was found deceased in her Mission Bend, Texas home. Authorities discovered her body along with that of her 22-year-old son, Bang An, who was also of Asian descent. Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. The Harris County Sheriff's Department identified Zhi Liu's husband, 53-year-old Peide Yang, as the primary suspect in the double homicide. Yang was charged with murder following the incident.
