First Lt. Brenton S. Dogden, a 28-year-old male soldier of Caucasian ethnicity, died on October 16, 2014, in Killeen, Texas, from an apparent gunshot wound at his off-post residence. He was a signal officer stationed at Fort Hood and had served in the U.S. Army since January 2011. Dogden was assigned to the 62nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 11th Signal Brigade, and had previously deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait.
