On the night of July 6, 2010, violence erupted in the 2400 block of Myrtle Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. 43-year-old Exiquio Martinez, a male resident of the area, was present at the location alongside another man when the situation unfolded. It was approximately 11:50 p.m. when the two individuals were outside and became the target of a confrontation that would quickly escalate into a life-threatening encounter.
