On April 23, 2015, Martin "Popeye" Cardenas, a 30-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot in a drive-by incident in Houston, Texas. The shooting occurred around 5 a.m. along the 6900 block of the Southwest Freeway. According to the Houston Police Department, an individual in a four-door car or sports utility vehicle pulled alongside Cardenas's vehicle and opened fire, striking him on his left side.
