Joyce Marie Elam Chamness, an 85-year-old woman from San Marcos, Texas, tragically passed away on June 9, 2015. She was found dead in her hospital room at the Central Texas Medical Center along with her husband, Ben Chamness, 87. The couple's daughter discovered them both shot in the room that morning. Hospital staff were treating Joyce for a serious medical condition, but it remains unclear whether her illness was related to the shooting.
