Ivoryana Chante Ballard, a 20-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on May 30, 2020, in San Marcos, Texas. The incident occurred at the Redpoint Apartments, formerly known as The Woods, located at 650 River Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ballard with apparent gunshot wounds and pronounced her dead at around 7:40 p.m.
The San Marcos Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division launched an immediate murder investigation.
Steven Deshawn Crawford, a 20-year-old man, was identified as the suspect in Ballard's death. Crawford turned himself in to the Hays County Jail on September 17, 2020, after an arrest warrant was issued for his involvement in the shooting.
