James Allen Rodriguez, a 59-year-old Hispanic man, was tragically shot and killed on his family's ranch near D'Hanis, Texas, on November 21, 2015. Rodriguez, who often enjoyed deer hunting on his property, encountered Shane Outlaw, a 26-year-old man who Rodriguez believed to be a poacher. Rodriguez called his brother-in-law, Mike Mollere, for backup, but both men were shot by Outlaw. Mollere survived his injuries, but Rodriguez did not.
