Jaterryion "JT" Davis, an 18-year-old male from Hearne, Texas, tragically died on November 27, 2015. He was shot at the Daryl Moody Community Center during a Thanksgiving party and later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. Davis was known to be outspoken and well-liked within his community.
Following his death, Jawuan Darden, also 18 years old, was arrested on December 18, 2015, and charged with capital murder.
However, Darden was released on December 31, 2015, as the charges against him were dropped. The investigation continued, and several members of the KWA gang, including Atorius Marquis Williams, Desmond Wilkerson, Demonta Daniels, Trashawn Alexander, James Whitfield, Jyraciel Whitfield, Jason Mayse, Christopher Meyers, Reginald Williams, and Dominic Johnson, were later arrested and charged with various crimes, including Davis' murder.
The case remained under investigation by the Hearne Police Department, Robertson County District Attorney's Office, and other agencies. The U.S. Attorney's Office of the Western District of Texas also became involved, charging the suspects with racketeering, Hobbs Act violations, federal drug trafficking, and multiple murders. Williams, in particular, was charged with conspiracy and accused of committing five murders, including that of Davis.
