Gilberto Garcia Garces, a 44-year-old Hispanic man from Progreso, Texas, tragically died on April 6, 2016, in Mercedes, Texas. His body was discovered the following day near a levee south of Expressway 83. The investigation revealed that Garces was kidnapped from a tire shop in Mercedes and taken to the levee, where he was brutally murdered.
