On May 8, 2016, Jose Antonio Hernandez, a 34-year-old Hispanic male from Houston, Texas, was fatally shot in the parking lot of his apartment complex. Hernandez was socializing with friends when an unknown suspect approached him armed with a shotgun. The suspect fired multiple shots at Hernandez, striking him several times before fleeing the scene. Hernandez was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
