Madelyn Grace Rychetsky, a 10-year-old girl from Aransas Pass, Texas, tragically lost her life on June 28, 2016. She was born on February 19, 2006, to Leslie and Brenda Rychetsky in Corpus Christi, Texas. Madelyn was a loving and caring daughter and sister who attended Charlie Marshall Elementary in Aransas Pass. Her untimely death was part of a tragic murder-suicide incident that also claimed the life of her mother, Brenda Luera Dolan.

On the evening of June 28, 2016, Madelyn and her mother were shot by her stepfather, Steven Dolan, in their home located in the 1700 block of West Highland Avenue in Aransas Pass. Steven Dolan, a longtime Corpus Christi firefighter, then took his own life shortly after the shootings. The incident was a result of domestic violence, and it highlighted the need for more awareness and education about such issues.

Madelyn's older sister, Emily Rychetsky, who was 12 years old at the time, made a desperate 911 call pleading for help as the tragic events unfolded. Emily was found hiding behind a boat by the detached garage when police arrived. The community came together to remember Madelyn and her mother through various ceremonies and tributes.

The case did not lead to any arrests or ongoing litigation, as the perpetrator, Steven Dolan, died at the scene. The incident was investigated by the Aransas Pass Police Department, and the findings were released to the public through police reports and media coverage.

Madelyn Grace Rychetsky's death was a heartbreaking event that deeply affected her family, friends, and the entire community of Aransas Pass. Her memory lives on through the love and support of those who knew her.
