On December 16, 2016, Karla Marizol Carias, a 22-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, was tragically killed in southeast Houston, Texas. She was shot by car burglars while confronting them outside her boyfriend's apartment at the Tropicana Apartments on Kingsway Drive.
