Fannie McWhite, a 61-year-old African American woman from Houston, Texas, tragically lost her life on April 17, 2017. She was fatally shot by her estranged husband, Russell Cormier, in the driveway of her home early that morning. The couple had been divorced for four years, and Cormier was reportedly upset that McWhite had gone on a cruise. During their confrontation, Cormier shot McWhite and then dragged her body across the driveway before fleeing the scene.
