On May 10, 2017, 20-year-old Jose Avidan Martinez, a Hispanic male from Pflugerville, TX, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the 1825 Place Apartments. He was starting a new construction job that morning when he was killed. Martinez was taken to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed that the shooting was connected to a robbery at a nearby 7-Eleven earlier that morning.
Robert Joseph Uribe, 18, was identified as the suspect and was arrested on May 13, 2017, on a burglary warrant. Uribe was charged with the murder of Martinez and held in the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond. Witnesses confirmed that Uribe and Martinez had met on the morning of the shooting.
Additionally, Anthony Rheinholtz and M'Kenzie Allen Marzett, both involved in the 7-Eleven robbery, were also arrested and charged. Rheinholtz was charged with aggravated robbery, while Marzett faced charges related to his involvement in the robbery.
The Pflugerville Police Department, along with the Round Rock Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, worked together to solve the case quickly.
