On August 10, 2017, at approximately 12:29 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to a call at a motel located at 109 West Overton Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Gregory Wallace, a 33-year-old Black male, deceased inside one of the motel rooms. He had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Further investigation revealed that his 2001 green Honda Civic, bearing temporary Texas paper tag number 746681, was missing from the scene.
