Cameron Taye Brooks, a 19-year-old male student at Tyler Junior College, was tragically shot and killed on September 21, 2017, in the parking lot of Highland Village Apartments in Longview, Texas. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 1 a.m., and Brooks was found shortly after. His death was ruled a homicide, and the incident sparked a significant investigation in the Longview area.
