Michael Clayton 'Clay' Robinson, a 51-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity from Universal City, Texas, tragically died on October 10, 2017. Robinson was a well-respected physician assistant and a beloved member of his community. He was known for his dedication to his patients and his active involvement in his local church.
Robinson's death occurred during a home invasion. Around 2:30 a.m., his wife alerted him to a possible intruder in their home. Robinson, armed with his 9mm Glock pistol, confronted the intruder, identified as 18-year-old Jonathan Andrew Perales. A shootout ensued, during which Robinson was fatally shot once in the torso. Perales was also shot twice and later taken into custody.
Perales was charged with capital murder in connection with Robinson's death. He was treated for his injuries at the San Antonio Military Medical Center before being booked into jail.
The investigation revealed that Perales had broken into Robinson's home and was believed to be responsible for several burglaries in the area. Items from Robinson's home were found in a stolen vehicle driven by Perales.
