On October 21, 2012, authorities in Kansas City, Missouri, launched a homicide investigation following the violent death of Jamonte A. Conaway, a 19-year-old Black male. Officers from the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to a residence located in the 3400 block of Agnes Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting in the area. Upon their arrival at the scene, first responders discovered the young man's body lying on the sidewalk outside the home at 3447 Agnes Avenue.
