Tracey Lovell, a 44-year-old British woman from Hayle, Cornwall, tragically died on January 9, 2019, in Victoria, Texas. She was found shot dead in bed at the home of her partner, Tom Bailey, a 60-year-old American prison guard. The incident was ruled a murder-suicide, as Bailey took his own life shortly after killing Lovell. Lovell had moved to Texas in November 2018 after meeting Bailey online and believing that a cure for her thyroid condition might be available in the United States.
