Joseph Anthony Pintucci, an 18-year-old male of Italian-American ethnicity, tragically passed away on January 24, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on June 30, 2000, in Hallandale, Florida, to Sara Margaret Harrington and Louis Cesare Pintucci. Joey was raised in Florida, Minnesota, and San Diego before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he lived with his guardians, Ben Harrington and Andrea Haag.
Joey was known for his kind, gentle, and charming personality, always seeing the best in
people and being loyal to his friends and family. He had a passion for skateboarding, video games, fishing, hunting, and anything related to Star Wars. Joey was also remembered for his innovative entrepreneurial spirit and his love for spending time with his girlfriend and friends.
On the night of his death, Joey was involved in a drug deal at The Shops at Park Lane shopping center. He met three individuals for the transaction, during which he was robbed of THC vape canisters worth approximately $1,500. The robbery turned deadly when one of the suspects, later identified as Juan Cardenas, fired a shot that killed Joey. Rene Eduardo Montanez was also arrested in connection with the crime, although he was not believed to be the shooter.
Juan Cardenas was arrested over ten months after Joey's death, based on Snapchat messages that connected him to the crime. Cardenas remains in custody, while Montanez was released on bond. The investigation continues as Dallas police seek to find two additional suspects involved in the robbery and shooting.
