Nathan Hayden Heidelberg, a 28-year-old male police officer with the Midland Police Department, tragically died on March 5, 2019, in Midland, Texas. Heidelberg was responding to a burglary alarm at a residence when he was shot and killed by the homeowner, David Wilson. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., and Heidelberg succumbed to his injuries later that morning at the Midland Memorial Hospital.
