Darius Brown, a 28-year-old man from Houston, Texas, was tragically shot and killed on April 8, 2019. Brown and his girlfriend had been at a convenience store when he got into a verbal altercation with two men. The two men followed Brown and his girlfriend to their home on Village Place Drive, near Crescent Park Drive in the Briarforest area. Once there, one of the men, later identified as 25-year-old Jamal Nicholson, shot Brown in the face.
Brown was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, police released surveillance images of the suspects and received numerous tips identifying Nicholson, who was known by the nickname "Savage". Nicholson was charged with murder, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The second man involved in the altercation has not been charged in connection with Brown's death.
