Dion Lenoire, a 36-year-old man from Beaumont, was arrested in connection with Thibodeaux's death.
He was charged with aggravated assault, which was later updated to a murder charge after Thibodeaux's death. Lenoire was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 46 years in prison. Additionally, he received a 10-year sentence for evading detention with a motor vehicle and a 2-year sentence for burglary of a building.
The investigation was led by the Beaumont Police Department, with significant contributions from Officer Gabriel Fells, Detective Mark Hogge, and Detective Staci Landor. The case was prosecuted by the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office, with Jimmy Hamm and Mike Laird handling the prosecution.
