Lizeth "Liz" Carpio, a 32-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically died on April 29, 2021, in Beaumont, Texas. She was fatally shot outside her residence in the 2500 block of McFaddin Avenue. Beaumont Police responded to a disturbance call and found Liz suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation led to Bradley Konning, also known as Bradley Williams, a 24-year-old man with a known history with the victim. Detectives identified him as a person of interest. Konning had three active Jefferson County warrants for unrelated offenses at the time. He was later arrested and charged with the murder of Liz Carpio.

In April 2022, Konning pleaded guilty to the murder of Liz Carpio. During the trial, he claimed that he was upset over a child custody issue. However, the jury determined that the shooting was not a crime of passion and sentenced Konning to 73 years in prison. The jury's decision was based on evidence suggesting that Konning had been threatening Liz for months and had a history of violence towards her.

The case highlighted the tragic circumstances surrounding Liz Carpio's death and the severe consequences faced by Bradley Konning for his actions. The community and Liz's family continue to mourn her loss and seek justice for her untimely death.
