On July 13, 2019, Remon Begay, a 27-year-old male of Navajo ethnicity, was found deceased in the 5500 block of Southwest Ninth Avenue in Amarillo, Texas. The Amarillo Police Department was dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Begay dead at the scene. Justice of the Peace Gary Jackson ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
