He was fatally shot in the parking lot of an H-E-B store in Cleveland, Texas, around 2:10 p.m. Reyes was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The incident was determined to be a robbery gone wrong, with the suspects fleeing the scene in a red pickup truck and a white van.
