Eliud Barerena-Mota, also known as "Sleepy," a 17-year-old from Cleveland, was identified as the alleged shooter and was arrested on July 22, 2019. Javier Lopez, also 17, was arrested on July 20, 2019, near Houston and taken into custody. A 15-year-old suspect was detained by Liberty County Sheriff's Office deputies on July 22, 2019. All three suspects were charged with capital murder and remain in custody with bonds set at $2 million each.
