Jacob Cole Thompson, a 17-year-old male from Beeville, Texas, tragically lost his life on August 9, 2019. He was a student at A.C. Jones High School and was known for his love of baseball and football. Jacob was shot and killed near the intersection of Nimitz Drive and South Lexington Road in Beeville. He was found with two gunshot wounds, one to the back and one to the head.

The Beeville Police Department continues to interview witnesses and gather information about the shooting. The area where Jacob was found is known as the Capehart addition, which consists of former naval housing that has since been converted into rental properties. Police Chief Robert Bridge stated that they believe Jacob was from the Refugio County area but was living in Beeville at the time of his death.

Jacob's passing has deeply affected his family and friends, who remember him as a smart, loving young man who brought joy to those around him. His funeral was held on August 16, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Beeville, followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Refugio, Texas.
