Garfield Smith, a 33-year-old male, tragically lost his life on August 25, 2019, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in southeast Houston, near the 8100 block of Woodward Street. Smith was standing in front of his girlfriend's home when her ex-boyfriend, Sean Antoni McLean, approached them in a car. Words were exchanged between McLean and Smith, which escalated into a violent confrontation.
McLean fired multiple shots from inside his vehicle, striking Smith in the chest, arm, and shoulder. Smith was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
