Courtney Jamal Johnson, a 31-year-old African American man from Marshall, Texas, tragically lost his life on October 26, 2019. He was fatally shot around 1:30 p.m. at the Bel Aire Manor Apartment Complex in the 1300 block of Melanie Street. Johnson was found inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Charles Ray Mason, also 31 years old and from Marshall, was arrested shortly after the incident. Mason was charged with one count of m ...
