Kyle Gregory Warren, a 30-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, tragically died on January 15, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas. He was fatally shot in the parking lot of a McDonald's on the Northwest Side of San Antonio. Warren was standing outside his vehicle when he was shot in the chest, and despite being rushed to University Hospital, he was pronounced dead at 9:12 p.m.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.
The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m., and police reported that a man and woman were seen in a vehicle that drove away from the scene shortly after the shooting. No suspects were identified immediately, and the vehicle in which Warren arrived at the parking lot was also missing, leaving investigators uncertain if it belonged to him or if he was alone.
Further investigation revealed that Warren and his friend had driven to the McDonald's parking lot to meet someone for a drug deal, which was arranged through Snapchat. The suspect, who drove a dark-colored four-door Acura TL, engaged in an argument with Warren and his friend, leading to the shooting. Another vehicle that arrived before the shooting was also caught on surveillance footage, and police believe that people in that vehicle may have information about the suspect's identity.
Despite extensive efforts, including the release of surveillance footage and appeals for information from Crime Stoppers, no arrests have been made in connection with Warren's death. The investigation remains open, and authorities continue to seek tips from the public to solve this double murder case.
