On February 18, 2020, 17-year-old Tristan Jones, a Black male, was shot multiple times in front of a home on Mira Colina in Channelview, Texas. Despite efforts by a deputy to stop the bleeding using field tourniquets, Tristan was pronounced dead at the hospital.
