Michael Brent Charles Ramos, a 42-year-old Black and Hispanic man, was killed on April 24, 2020, in Austin, Texas. The incident occurred when Austin police officers responded to a call about illegal drug activity at a southeast Austin apartment complex. The caller reported that Ramos had a gun, but no weapon was found at the scene.

When the officers arrived, they ordered Ramos to exit his vehicle and show his hands. Ramos complied, lifting his shirt to demonstrate that he was unarmed. Des ...
