Keyon Marcell Tyson, age 24, was tragically shot and killed on June 22, 2012, in San Bernardino, California. The shooting occurred early in the morning outside his apartment on North Golden Avenue. Police arrived at the scene after receiving a report of shots fired and found Tyson lying on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Despite numerous potential witnesses being present during the shooting, law enforcement faced significant challenges in gathering information, as
many people were unwilling to cooperate due to fear of retaliation. Tyson was remembered by his neighbors as friendly, and there was no clear indication of any reason for him to be targeted. The investigation has struggled to find a clear motive, and Tyson’s death added to the rising number of homicides that year in San Bernardino.
