On March 23, 2014, Deandre Williams, a 27-year-old Black male from Rialto, California, was fatally shot during a house party in San Bernardino. The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. in the 5500 block of North Osborne Court, a residential area near California State University, San Bernardino. Williams sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of the shooting, approximately 100 people were attending the party.
Witnesses reported no prior altercations or arguments before the gunfire erupted. Surveillance footage captured flashes from the gun and people fleeing the scene in panic. The suspect, described as a Black male in his 20s, was seen mingling inside the home before the shooting and is believed to have been an uninvited guest.
Investigators later discovered that Deandre Williams was a documented member of a Rialto-based gang. While the motive for the shooting remains unclear, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of it being gang-related. Despite the presence of numerous attendees, police received little information that could help identify the shooter. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
The residence where the party took place was known for hosting large gatherings, and police had previously responded to noise complaints at the location. Neighbors expressed shock over the incident, noting that while parties were common, a fatal shooting was unprecedented in their community. Authorities continue to seek information from anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has knowledge about the suspect's identity.
