Lewis Anthony Mathis, a 41-year-old male from Houston, Texas, tragically lost his life on May 1, 2020. He was standing alone on the sidewalk at the intersection of Andrews and Wilson streets when an unknown vehicle drove by and shots were fired. Mathis was struck multiple times and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics, but he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
