Miranda Freshwater, a 20-year-old woman from Conroe, Texas, tragically lost her life on June 19, 2020. The initial report to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was of an accidental shooting at the 10320 block of Woodhollow Drive in Conroe. Upon arrival, deputies were met by Hector Abiel Cantu, who claimed that Miranda had accidentally shot herself while cleaning a friend's rifle. However, inconsistencies in Cantu's account and the evidence at the scene led to further investigation.
