On July 4, 2020, Antron Edmundson, a 34-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Eloise Lundy Recreation Center. Edmundson, who was African American, was confronted by 31-year-old Aubrey Jernigan about a debt he owed. Witnesses reported that Edmundson refused to pay the debt and made threats before Jernigan pulled out a gun and shot him multiple times.
