On July 14, 2020, 15-year-old Jonathon Castillo, a Latin male, was fatally shot while sitting in the passenger seat of a friend's car at an apartment building on the 2700 block of North Buckner Blvd in Dallas, TX. Castillo was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, Dallas police identified two suspects: a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old.
The 16-year-old was arrested and taken to Dallas police headquarters, where he waived his rights in front of a judge and allegedly admitted his involvement in Castillo's death.
