On January 15, 2015, Scott Allan Knopfel, a 50-year-old night manager at the Drury Inn in St. Louis, Missouri, was tragically killed during an armed robbery. The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. when a man entered the hotel lobby and demanded money. As Knopfel began to open the cash register, he was shot multiple times in the chest and face.
