In the city of St. Louis, the life of 22-year-old Ke’Erica Bolden, a Black female, was tragically cut short on April 30, 2015. Her death, a violent tableau discovered in a duplex apartment near Fairground Park, remains a somber, unsolved chapter in the city’s history.
On that Thursday morning, the father of Bolden’s companion, 25-year-old Korie Hodges, arrived at the residence in the 4000 block of Natural Bridge Avenue with the intention of dropping off a child. Instead, he stumbled upon a scene of profound tragedy. The apartment door was open, and inside, in a bedroom, he found the bodies of Bolden and Hodges. Both women had been shot to death. In the midst of this violence, two small children, aged two and five, were discovered unharmed within the apartment. It is believed that Bolden had brought the children to the residence.
Investigators arriving at the difficult scene noted that Bolden had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her chest, back, and head. There were no signs of a struggle or forced entry into the apartment, leading police to suspect that the victims may have known their assailant.
