On the early morning of May 2, 2015, police in St. Louis, Missouri, responded to a call regarding a shooting in the northern part of the city. The incident occurred during a particularly violent year for the region, which saw a significant spike in homicides. Officers arrived at the 2300 block of Salisbury Street in the Hyde Park neighborhood, where they discovered the victim lying in the street.
