Trendon DeLeon Spiller, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 10, 2021, in Arlington, Texas. Born on August 15, 1999, in Arlington, he was the son of Dontae Spiller and Latrenda Jones. Trendon was a member of New Town M.B.C. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and was employed by SSI Staffing Co. of Arlington. His untimely death has left a void in the lives of his family and friends.
On the evening of February 10, 2021, the Arlington Police Department responded
to a shooting call in the 600 block of Cousins Lane at 7:44 p.m. Trendon Spiller was found with gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The initial investigation revealed that multiple individuals had gathered at a nearby convenience store in the 1700 block of West Sanford Street. As they left the store in separate vehicles, an unknown suspect or suspects began following Trendon and another man riding in the same car. The suspect or suspects opened fire on the vehicle, striking Trendon. His friend managed to move him to the passenger seat and drove to a residence on Cousins Lane to seek help.
The Arlington Police Department made significant progress in the investigation, leading to the arrests of two suspects. Dalvin Moore was arrested at Arlington Police Headquarters on February 12, 2021, and charged with murder. The second suspect, Kahleigh Crittenden, was apprehended in Fort Worth by the Arlington Police Department's Fugitive Team on February 25, 2021, without incident. Both suspects faced charges of murder in connection with Trendon's death.
The investigation into Trendon Spiller's murder is ongoing, with authorities seeking video surveillance from the convenience store and additional information from the public.
