Kathleen Heather Kat Abramson, a 45-year-old Caucasian woman from Amarillo, Texas, tragically passed away on April 13, 2021. She was a well-respected mathematics instructor for the Amarillo Independent School District and an active member of Grace Church of Amarillo. Kathleen is survived by her two sons, Levi LaRue and Hayden LaRue, as well as her mother and stepfather, Bob and Glennda Slagle, and her brother, Glenn Green.
The circumstances surrounding Kathleen's death were determined
to be a murder-suicide. On the morning of April 13, 2021, police were called to a home on Laguna Drive in Amarillo, where they found Kathleen and her husband, Jason Wayne Abramson, both deceased. Investigators concluded that Jason shot and killed Kathleen before turning the gun on himself. The incident was determined to be unrelated to another murder-suicide that occurred the same day in Amarillo.
