Samantha Lopez, a 28-year-old Hispanic woman from San Antonio, Texas, was tragically shot and killed on May 24, 2021, outside her home as she was preparing to take her three daughters, aged 2, 6, and 10, to school. The incident occurred just after 7 a.m., and her three daughters were present but unharmed. The San Antonio Police Department detained a person of interest in the case, identified as Samantha's estranged husband.
