Aniya Raye Gary-Tyler, a 16-year-old female of African American ethnicity, tragically lost her life on June 16, 2021, in Rosenberg, Texas. She was shot and killed inside her home by an older young man from the neighborhood who unexpectedly came over with a gun. According to her family, Aniya repeatedly asked him to leave, especially since he was carrying a firearm. Despite her pleas, the man shot her in the center mass with an AR-15 assault rifle.
