Laura Alicia Kate Placker, a 37-year-old woman from San Antonio, Texas, tragically lost her life on June 19, 2021. She was fatally shot in a motel room by Dillon Leigh Meckel, who was later indicted on capital murder charges. The incident occurred in the presence of her two young children, aged four and six, who witnessed their mother's murder. Placker was also pregnant at the time, and the unborn child was declared deceased along with her.
